Blogs are potentially a valuable way to provide investors with unfiltered perspectives both from companies themselves and from anyone who has an interest in their activities.

But I fear that Google Financeâ€™s implementation is doing more harm than good.

So does that mean that if I write on my blog about the way I have been treated by <strike> Barclays </strike> a bank it will appear on Google Finance's page for that bank?

In any case, where do I find "the ticker symbol"?

At the moment it's very much a US thing but it is possible to get information on UK companies. For UK tickers, go to Hemscott (I think)

Note the original post was in error - you have to use the name, not the symbol.
